The Inherent Beauty of the Universe
64When staring up at the starry night sky I often think just how beautiful the universe and everything in it is, there is very inherent beauty in the universe. From the smallest particle, to the largest of galaxies; the universe is so perfect, simple and complex at the same time, each piece a different scale model of the next. Our human made numbers have shown that there is perfection unlike anything known in nature. Perfect symmetry, incredible ratios that show up time and time again. When it comes down to it, numbers or not, the universe is just beautiful.

The Ratio of the Universe
There exists a ratio, one which is present everywhere in the universe. This ratio, referred to as the Golden Ratio or the Fibonacci Sequence or the Golden Mean Spiral, seems to represent perfect harmony and balance in our universe. The Great Pyramid holds this ratio, your own body utilizes it everywhere. Hold out your arm. The length of your hand (fingertip to wrist) to your elbow comes out to this ratio. It turns out that this ratio is present everywhere in nature, plants use the ratio in amazing paterns, spiral like paterns, complex shapes, scaled versions of the fibonacci sequence.
People have gazed upon the night's sky for a long time. The big questions came about from this small act of curiosity.
- Where do we come from?
- Why are we here?
- Are we alone?
- What does it all mean?
- What's out there?
This is what science aims to answer, these questions all started by looking up and wondering, and maybe one day we will find out what's out there. For now, all we have to do is keep looking up.

Awesome photos, a very interesting hub. It is fascinating 'out there' and comtemplating the unhumanised (unspoilt) perfection and beauty and indescribable vastness makes us here on earth seem very small and very insigificant in the overall scheme of things. Enjoyable reading, thank you.
